Montana Projected To Lose Over $8 Million From Menthol Cigarette Ban

This spring the United States Food and Drug Administration is expected to announce a national ban on menthol-flavored cigarettes and cigars with a characterizing flavor in an attempt to limit tobacco consumption and as a result improve public health. According to a new analysis from the Tax Foundation for Montana in the first full year after prohibition projected revenue loss would be $8,627,522 which includes a decline in a previous master settlement agreement from a former lawsuit.
