Daily Amtrak service on most of its long-distance routes will not resume as previously planned March 28th and some trains will not return to a normal schedule until spring or even summer. The Empire Builder which stops in Whitefish, West Glacier, Essex, East Glacier Park and Browning will resume daily service later on across Montana’s Hi-Line. In a statement to Railfan and Railroad Amtrak officials blamed ongoing hiring challenges for why it would not be resuming all of its regular service this month.
