After 20 years Northwestern Energy is replacing its electric meters for its customers across the Treasure State and the upgraded meters will offer improved remote readings at no extra cost. The new meters will provide faster connections. Butte and Whitehall should be completed by the end of the year and then NorthWestern will move on to the rest of the state. It could take three years to upgrade the state’s 590,000 electric meters.

President Biden has picked Tracy Stone-Manning of Missoula to be director of the U.S. Bureau of Land Management currently a senior advisor for conservation policy at the National Wildlife Federation. Marcia Brownlee also at the federation has worked with Stone-Manning for the past three years.
