Financial Assistance Available To Montanans Struggling From COVID Setbacks

In: News Headlines

For some Montanans paying rent and utilities because of the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic can be very challenging financially and emotionally. The Montana Emergency Rental Assistance Program offers financial support to help with rent and utilities for up to a year. Eligibility for the Montana Emergency Rental Assistance Program depends upon household income which may not exceed 80% of area median income and a loss of income and housing instability must be demonstrated.

It’s hard for rural Montanans to get legal assistance when filling out court documents. A program in the state is helping connect them with experts. Alex Clark with the Montana Legal Services Association says the goal of the program is to increase access to free civil legal assistance for rural Montanans.
