Senator Steve Daines and Representative Matt Rosendale have written to Secretary of Interior Deb Haaland and Bureau of Land Management’s Director Tracy Stone-Manning asking them to extend the protest period following the agency’s approval of a revised grazing permit for American Prairie last week. It wants to use 63,000 acres of federally managed land to grow its current bison population from 813 animals to around 1,000 by 2025.
