SAND COULEE: Governor Greg Gianforte presented his Spirit of Montana award to the volunteers of the Sand Coulee Fire Department Tuesday evening for their response to the Gibson Flats Fire last December. He also joined them for dinner Tuesday evening at the American Bar in Stockett. The governor’s Spirit of Montana award recognizes Montanans for their accomplishments along with their dedication and or service.
COOKE CITY: An avalanche near Cooke City over the weekend that killed a snowbiker marked the fourth avalanche fatality in Montana this year. Dave Zinn a forecaster with the Gallatin National Forest Service Avalanche Center who conducted the investigation shared the cause of the avalanche Tuesday on Voices of Montana.
