East Helena brothers Joshua and Jerod Hughes charged in the January 6th U.S. Capitol insurrection entered not guilty pleas Monday via video in front of U.S. District Court Judge Timothy J. Kelly for an updated indictment in their case and will return to court January 7th for a status conference. The prosecution has said the Hughes brothers placed themselves at the tip of the spear that day and face eight counts. Both are out of jail on their own recognizance. The brothers who drove to Washington D.C. from Montana turned themselves over to law enforcement in Montana shortly after the riot.
