21 U.S. Senators asked Interior Secretary Deb Halland Thursday to shield wolves from being killed for 240 days while permanent protections are considered. The request is in response to Republican-backed state laws in Montana and Idaho that make it easier to kill the predators. Senator Jon Tester was not among those who made the request but stated yesterday he agrees with the year-long federal review of Montana’s law.
