Public Service Commission Members May Be Removed Following Audit

In: News Headlines

Following a Legislative audit that found falsified financial records at the Montana Public Service Commission, former PSC chairman Greg Jergeson wrote to Governor Greg Gianforte Tuesday about a never before used law that allows Montana’s governor to remove PSC members who violate the law. Jergeson said the falsified documents justify determining whether the law should be used by the governor. He also contacted Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen and suggested the state’s lead prosecutor review the audit for any criminal behavior that could be turned over to a county attorney for prosecution.

Thursday Representative Derek Skees Chair of the Legislature’s Energy Telecommunications and Federal Relations Committee in the House was on Voices of Montana. He was asked about the audit and had this reaction.
