The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced on March 26th when companies can’t do work due to the COVID-19 outbreak it will not penalize them.  The Montana Department of Environmental Quality has also offered some flexibility. These moves have drawn varying degrees of concern from environmental groups in Montana as regulators and permit holders from wastewater treatment plants to oil refineries face the challenge of protecting air land and water amid an unprecedented situation.
