Local Businesses Worry Wolf Hunting Is Affecting Their Business

In: News Headlines

30 businesses near Yellowstone National Park are raising concerns about the hunting of wolves emerging from the park setting off bells for wildlife-related businesses in the region. They have writing to Interior Secretary Deb Halland to return endangered-species protections to gray wolves. Cary McGary is owner and lead guide for In Our Nature Guiding Services out of Gardiner and is also a former U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service employee. She says it’s not her preference to have to go to the federal government to ask for endangered- species protections for gray wolves noting it could erode the relationships build in the region.

Businesses near Yellowstone have organized the Wild Livelihoods Business Coalition to promote management practices that allow for coexistence with wildlife.
