Richard Barber is from Willow Creek. His 9-year-old son was killed in a hunting accident involving a Remington Model 700 in 2000. Barber along with his family settled a wrongful death claim against Remington in 2002 for an undisclosed amount of money. Reuters reports Remington is now preparing to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and is in advanced talks for a potential sale to the Navajo Nation as the lead bidder to purchase its assets out of Chapter 11.
