Thursday, Gallatin County Sheriff’s evacuated residents of a mobile home park, where law enforcement negotiated with a man armed with a pistol and taser, who had taken a woman hostage. Gallatin County said on Twitter shortly before 3 p.m. the hostage had been released. Sheriff Dan Springer stated in a press conference, the situation began about 8:40 a.m. when law enforcement received a call that a man had taken a woman hostage at Forest Trailer Park near Four Corners.

The prescribed burn planned in the Helena area this week will be postponed. Officials say conditions were okay, but not perfect. Here’s Helena-Lewis & Clark National Forest public affairs officer Chiara Cipriano on that decision.
