Governor Gianforte Celebrates $200,000 Investment in Great Falls High School House Program and Declares November 13 as High School House Day

Governor Greg Gianforte joined NeighborWorks Great Falls today, with Mike Rowe, and Wells Fargo to celebrate a $200,000 investment in the Great Falls High School House Program, which provides students hands-on experience building homes for first-time buyers. The governor also declared November 13 as High School House Day in Montana, aligning the program with the state’s 406 JOBS Initiative to strengthen workforce development. Highlighting ongoing efforts to expand skilled trades education and community partnerships.

 

Bill Mercer Sworn In as Montana U.S. District Court Judge, Filling Vacancy in Missoula

Bill Mercer was sworn in as Montana’s newest U.S. District Court judge Wednesday, four months after his nomination by President Donald Trump. The ceremony was conducted by Chief U.S. District Judge Brian Morris at the federal courthouse in Missoula. Mercer fills the vacancy left by Judge Dana Christensen’s senior. A former assistant U.S. attorney, Montana U.S. attorney, and acting U.S. Associate Attorney General, Mercer also was a partner at Holland & Hart. He served four terms in the Montana House of Representatives from 2018 until resigning on November 10.

Congressman Troy Downing secured nearly $2 million in federal funding for upgrades to the Red Lodge Fire District 7 station through the 2026 appropriations bill. The investment will expand apparatus bays, training areas, and facilities to improve emergency response capacity for a rural region frequently impacted by wildfires and floods.
