The chamber worked Monday to come to an agreement to speed up the process, before taking a series of votes to incorporate various elements of the deal into a single legislative package. The House is expected to vote on the measure as early as Wednesday.

Mike Nelson Declared Winner to Become New Mayor of Billings After Tight Race
It’s official, Billings Hotelier Mike Nelson will be the new mayor for Montana’s largest city. The final tally was not completed till Monday with Jennifer Owen conceding the race. The concession comes after the Yellowstone County Elections Office counted the remaining provisional and resolved rejected ballots left over from Election Night. Those added ballots left Nelson with a 177-vote lead in a tight race that saw more than 30,000 votes cast.
