Pyramid Mountain Lumber in Seeley Lake has completed finishing all lumber production. Family Owned and Operated Since 1949 the oldest surviving family owned and operated lumber mill in Montana is closing its doors citing a lack of staffing and a decreased value of lumber. The company had employed roughly 100 people. It was Seeley Lake’s largest employer and has been in a strategic wind down since March.

The Southwest Area Incident Management Team 5 assumed command of the 184,127-acre Remington fire Sunday. Only 35% of the fire which ignited 20 miles northeast of Leiter Wyoming before moving north into Montana is considered contained.

The Kalispell City Council is expected to review the municipality’s compliance with federal rules governing the presence of lead and copper in the public water supply this evening at 7 in City Hall. The Lead and Copper Rule Improvement is set to be implemented before October 16th.

Helena city leaders will decide at a meeting this evening whether to support changes to traffic flow and parking around the Montana State Capitol. The changes are estimated to increase the number of available parking spaces in the project area by up to 225. The proposed plan would convert several streets to one-way-only traffic with angled parking spaces replacing parallel parking.

The Montana Grizzlies have set a new football season ticket record at Washington-Grizzly Stadium. 18,816 packages have been sold and distributed. 95 percent of last year’s season ticket holders renewed for this year’s seven-game slate.

The Billings Public School district has released a $10.5 million renovation plan for Daylis Stadium. The three main goals are to replace decomposing bleachers and facilities expand the stadium seating and to expand and resurface the track.

The Hamilton School District is initiating a new charter school program that will offer new opportunities for the coming year. So far around 50 students are enrolled.
