Missoula County’s Republican Party spent two days and $5,000 reviewing public records finishing up Tuesday evening checking a hand-count done last year led by the Montana Election Integrity Project that insisted they uncovered a discrepancy of more than 4,500 votes compared with the official election results. Republican Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen has never indicated publicly that she gives any credence to the group’s findings and has repeatedly declined to answer questions from Lee Newspaper’s Montana State News Bureau about the issue.
