The Empire Builder passes through Montana from Browning to Wolf Point before heading on to North Dakota passing Whitefish and Glacier National Park. Now, Amtrak is using that route to debut new cleaner, faster and more fuel-efficient locomotives. Right now, though, there are only four of the new Chargers operating on the Empire Builder, which run five days a week.
