According to the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services, the number of children removed from their homes and in care elsewhere was 3,021 at the end of January. The federal government has now approved a five-year Family First Prevention Plan incorporating several different programs that work with parents to help keep children safe and in their homes some of which have already shown success in Montana.
