The sale of recreational marijuana rolled out in 29 counties on New Year’s Day for adults 21 and over who can legally buy up to 5 ounces or its equivalent each month. Sales to date won’t be released for a few days by the Department of Revenue’s Cannabis Control Division but it is estimated that in 2022 there will be $217.2 million worth in purchases of medical and recreational marijuana.
