Volunteers started collecting signatures earlier this month hoping to place Constitutional Initiative 121 on the ballot in November which would slow the rate of growing residential property taxes. Legislators decided to postpone a vote on the proposal last week while a court battle plays out is Lewis and Clark County District Court. Judge Michael Moses is scheduled to determine whether the petition effort has gone through the proper legal channels or if organizers might have to start over.
