House Redistricting Raises Concerns About Future Political Outcomes

2020 Census data will be released Thursday which the District and Apportionment Commission will use to determine both congressional and state legislative districts. One contentious idea for drawing districts is their competitiveness which Democrats have pushed for while Republicans say the process shouldn’t create specific political outcomes. University of Montana political professor Rob Saldin says the argument for competitive districts is that you get more moderate candidates.
