The Montana Department of Environmental Quality is advising those visiting Montana lakes and reservoirs to be on the lookout for harmful algae bloom a type of bacteria that grows in freshwater systems. It can severely sicken humans and kill pets and livestock if ingested. Department Water Quality Specialist Hannah Riedl on where they are commonly found.
