Legislators voted Monday to empower the attorney general to force Colstrip Power Plant’s six owners to make power plant repairs that the state deems essential after the state House voted for Senate Bill 266 to nullify portions of the private business agreement governing the generator.  Not making the repairs dictated by state government would cost each non-submissive power plant owner a fine of $100,000 a day.

A new firearm carry law will go into effect June 1st to allow concealed carry of firearms on State University System campuses leaving the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education to collect public input draft a policy and present its findings to the Board of Regents during next month’s meeting.
