Charles Bailey was sentenced to three years in federal prison Friday for illegal possession of an illegal destructive device. The West Yellowstone man told Judge Dana Christensen he had homemade bombs for hunting problematic coyotes in the area. The 40 month term is lower than prosecutors recommended. Bailey will remain under three years of supervised release after his prison term. Bailey first came on Law Enforcement radar in 2019 while executing a protection order filed by his former girlfriend. That order prohibited Bailey from possessing firearms.
