Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is looking for volunteers with an interest in recreation and parks issues to serve on its citizen advisory council for south central Montana.

The CAC is a general advisory committee that provides input to FWP on diverse issues from wildlife and fisheries management, to access, state parks, outdoor recreation and law enforcement. The committee represents a variety of south central Montana communities and natural resource interests. The department is looking specifically for people with interests in parks and outdoor recreation to round out its current membership.

Applicants must live in FWP Region 5, which includes all of portions of Yellowstone, Carbon, Big Horn, Musselshell, Golden Valley, Wheatland, Stillwater and Sweet Grass counties.

The CAC is designed to:

Provide a forum for ongoing two-way communication

Help FWP identify emerging issues

Provide advice and perspective on resource and management issues

Assist FWP with creating ideas on regional and statewide issues.

The panel of volunteers typically meets on midweek evenings three or four times per year in Billings. Members serve two-year terms and can reapply when their terms expire. Travel expenses are provided.
