On Voices of Montana last week Governor Greg Gianforte said he thinks there is unity against what Russian President Vladimir Putin is doing to Ukraine. He mentioned the energy sector specifically.
As a part of continued efforts to weaking Russian President Vladimir Putin’s regime and increase American energy independence, Montana Senators Jon Tester and Steve Daines have co-sponsored legislation to block all Russian oil and gas imports to the U.S. Tester says the “Ban Russian Energy Imports Act” would hit Putin where it hurts.
Monday, both President Biden and the European Union announced sanctions against Russia in response to Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s acknowledgment of separatist groups in Eastern Ukraine on the brink of a possible invasion of Ukraine. Senator Jon Tester agrees the U.S. should intervene if that would happen.
