Montana Announces Exciting 2026 Season in Virginia City and Nevada City

“Historic view of Virginia City, a reminder of the town’s rich past.”
The Montana Department of Commerce and Montana Heritage Commission have officially announced the concessionaires for the 2026 summer season in Virginia City and Nevada City. Local favorites along with new vendors are preparing to welcome visitors, supporting the communities’ economic stability while preserving their historic charm.
Supporting Long-Term Stability and Heritage
Deputy Director Mandy Rambo highlighted the collaborative efforts to fill leases, noting, “We’re excited to see retail shops, restaurants, galleries, entertainment, and hospitality venues preparing to welcome customers this season.” She explained that the Montana Heritage Commission, which manages historic properties in Virginia City, Nevada City, and Helena’s Reeder’s Alley, aims to keep these towns vibrant and sustainable. Rambo added, “Properties are meant to be self-sustaining, with revenues from local businesses helping fund preservation and maintenance efforts.”
Returning and New Concessionaires
The upcoming season will see familiar faces returning, including Bale of Hay Saloon, Brewery Follies, and more. New businesses will also join the scene, such as Bob’s Place and Wells Fargo Bar & Grill operated by Montana-based SharBert Enterprises. “They approach each venture with a genuine desire to honor local stories and culture,” Rambo said.
What Visitors Can Expect
Visitors can explore the mix of entertainment, shopping, and dining options. The Shop at the City Bakery and Stark Summit’s Star Bakery and Restaurant are highlights.

“Boot Hill Cemetery, a glimpse into the storied heritage of Nevada City.”
Rambo encouraged visitors to explore private businesses as well, emphasizing their contribution to the town’s charm. The season kicks off around Memorial Day weekend, with most shops and attractions open for guests.
Supporting Montana’s Heritage
Beyond tourism, the Heritage Commission is fundraising for Stonewall Hall. “We invite the community to support this project through donations,” Rambo said.
With historic preservation and new enterprise, Montana’s iconic towns are preparing for an exciting summer filled with tradition and stories waiting to be discovered.
