Gianforte Calls for Turning Point USA Chapters in Every Montana High School
On Wednesday, Montana Governor Greg Gianforte urged high schoolers to launch local chapters of Turning Point USA. The move follows the death of the group’s founder, Charlie Kirk, who was killed last year. Currently, the organization has a presence in about 12 percent of Montana schools. Gianforte says he wants to see a chapter in every high school to promote “constitutional values.”
Former Crow Legislator and Musician Convicted of Child Sex Abuse
A federal jury in Billings has convicted a prominent Crow musician and former tribal legislator on charges of child sex abuse. Fifty-four-year-old Jared Stewart was found guilty Wednesday of abusive sexual contact involving a minor under the age of twelve. The incident occurred on the Crow Indian Reservation. Stewart is currently in custody at the Yellowstone County Detention Facility and faces a maximum sentence of life in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for this June.

Environmental groups are hitting back at NorthWestern Energy over its new twenty-year power plan. Critics told the utility this week that the proposal relies too heavily on fossil fuels and data centers while ignoring renewable energy targets.
