Billings Business Leaders Step Into the Classroom for “Educator for a Day”

What’s it like in today’s public schools? The Education Foundation for Billings Public Schools has a program that connects the public and businesses to schools in a unique way through the Educator for a Day Program. Executive Director Kelly McCandless says the program is geared toward the public, but says that educators also get quite a lift:

The Educator for a Day Program started more than a decade ago. It takes place Feb 12 for Billings Public Schools. McCandless says she believes school districts around the state would benefit from a similar outreach.

Montana Superintendent Highlights Career Readiness During CTE Month

Montana Superintendent of Public Instruction Susie Hedalen is recognizing February as Career and Technical Education Month, emphasizing career readiness and work-based learning for students statewide. Hedalen says CTE programs help students connect classroom learning to real-world experience through internships and apprenticeships. More than 36,000 Montana high school students are enrolled in CTE courses, with supporters saying the programs boost graduation rates and better prepare students for life after high school.

Governor Greg Gianforte Joins Turning Point USA to Promote Club America at Capitol

Governor Greg Gianforte will join Turning Point USA and Montana high school students Wednesday afternoon at the state Capitol to promote the group’s Club America program. The event highlights student-led chapters focused on civics education and constitutional rights. It takes place in the Capitol Rotunda and will be livestreamed.
