The 2026 Economic Outlook Seminar hosted by the University of Montana’s Bureau of Business and Economic Research when done, will have visited nine cities across Montana through March. Director Jeff Michael has a preview this time taking a look at the manufacturing sector in the state.

The 51st annual BBER Economic Outlook Seminar is stopping in 9 cities across Montana and is at the Missoula Hilton Garden Inn Friday.

Search Begins for Next University of Montana President

The University of Montana has launched a public website as it begins the search for its next president. The site allows community members and stakeholders to share input, view the position description, and nominate or apply for the job. The Board of Regents has also hired A‑G‑B Search to assist with the process.

Sheehy’s Anti‑Terror Funding Bill Clears Senate Foreign Relations Committee

U.S. Senator Tim Sheehy says his “No Tax Dollars for Terrorists Act” has passed the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The bill, introduced last year, aims to block U.S. taxpayer money from indirectly reaching the Taliban. A 2025 oversight report found billions in aid to Afghanistan may have ended up in Taliban hands.
