On the sixth day of his “12 Days of Giving,” Monday, Governor Greg Gianforte highlighted the opportunity for Montanans to support the Threshold of Life Memorial, which honors organ, eye, and tissue donors, encourages education on organ donation, and promotes donor registration. Fundraising for the memorial is organized by the Governor’s Office of Community Service. In Montana, there are currently more than 198 individuals waiting for a lifesaving organ, and 86 percent of Montanans are registered as organ donors.

Gas Prices in Montana Hold Steady Over the Past Week
Gas prices have remained unchanged over the past week in Montana. GasBuddy.com reports that as of Monday, the average price for a gallon of gas is $2.95. Gas prices in Montana are 2.1 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and 11.6 cents higher than a year ago.
Montana Cannabis Sales Top $26 Million in November, Pushing Year-to-Date Total to $300 Million
Montana recorded $26,639,158 in combined marijuana sales for November, marking the ninth consecutive month in which total revenue exceeded $25 million. According to the Montana Department of Revenue, the state has now reached $300 million in marijuana sales so far this year. The state’s all-time cumulative total has climbed to $1,246,580,484 since adult-use stores first opened.

The affordable housing complex in Missoula, the Wildflower Apartments, has been awarded $8.5 million in federal funding so that 40 apartments can be rehabilitated. Located on 34th Street near Playfair Park, the apartments are owned and managed by the nonprofit Missoula Housing Authority and will be affordable to people at certain lower levels of the income scale.

Montana’s largest university and largest health care system are partnering for a research project focused on identifying and addressing cancer care barriers and challenges for American Indian and Alaska Native communities. The two-year, grant-funded project, called CONSTELLATION, is a partnership between Billings Clinic and Montana State University.
For the past 15 years, Butte’s Big Sky on Waterford retirement home has been transformed into a wonderland of Christmas trees. New to the tradition this year is a Christmas tree auction. People can place bids on one of 16 trees, and all of the proceeds will go to the Montana chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
Great Falls resident Liz Alford was recently selected as Ms. Wheelchair Montana 2026. In August 2026, she will travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan, to compete for the national title of Ms. Wheelchair America 2027.
