TSA Enables Travelers in Montana to Use Mobile Driver’s License for ID Verification
The Transportation Security Administration will now allow airline passengers to use their Montana issued digital driver’s license or ID card in Apple Wallett. In collaboration with the state of Montana that will verify their identity for airport security screening purposes at select TSA checkpoints. They can also present their Apple Watch for digital identification purposes.
Company sends more signals of wanting to build data center in Butte
Sabey Data Centers has been approved to take action on 606 acres in Butte-Silver Bow’s Industrial Park it bought in April for a possible new data center. Northwestern Energy has signed letters of intent to supply 400 megawatts combined by the year 2030 to Sabey and Butte-based Atlas Power for possible data centers.

Federal Judge Dismisses Lawsuit Against VGW in Montana
A federal judge has put an end to Montana’s legal battle with VGW Holdings dismissing a lawsuit accusing the Australian company of violating Montana’s gaming laws as well as federal laws on online gambling but the reason has not been made public. USFS chief Tom Schultz outlines vision for more logging mining and grazing and less wildfire in forests
U.S. Forest Service Chief Tom Shultz was the keynote speaker this week in Whitefish at a conference organized by the Congressional Western Caucus. He said America’s national forests need less wildfire and more logging mining grazing and recreational activity. Schultz also said he intends to aggressively suppress all wildfires and make more Forest Service land accessible for recreational use by motorized users and others.

The Montana Supreme Court has ruled District Judge Kathy Seeley did not abuse her discretion when she sentenced Lloyd Barrus to the Montana State Prison instead of a state mental health facility for his role in the 2017 shooting death of Broadwater County deputy Mason Moore. Barrus argued in an appeal that he suffered from mental health disorders during the shooting and was unable to grasp the criminality of his behavior at the time.
