The Montana Department of Corrections’ contract with CoreCivic which operates the 600-bed Crossroads Correctional Center near Shelby expires at the end of the month. All of the basic details are already figured out and the final language is being worked out between the parties’ attorneys for a new contract to begin July 1st. It requires additional programming treatment and education opportunities at Crossroads and requires the prison to expand by roughly 170 beds.
