The results come from a survey commissioned by the Greater Montana Foundation and conducted by the University of Montana Bureau of Business and Economic Research. The foundations first surveys were conducted in 2015 and 2016 and set a baseline for evaluating Montana news consumption in the digital age. The trends between then and now are definitely thought provoking.
