Paycheck Provider Program 101
Barely more than a week old, the Paycheck Protection Program, part of the federal government’s $2.2 trillion stimulus bill passed March 27, is already providing a critical lifeline for Montana businesses. How does the program work? Which businesses are eligible? Where does a business owner get connected, or find other means to survive?
Listen to the podcast, as Brent Donnelly, Montana District Director for the Small Business Administration provides those answers, helps folks over some of the program’s rough edges, and provides other valuable information. Likewise for Steve Arveschoug, who was along side Donnelly for the interview on Voices. Arveschoug is President of the Montana Economic Developers Association, and Executive Director of the Big Sky Economic Development Authority. Those are among the dozens of Montana development organizations which are providing funding, resources, and consultations to help Montana’s businesses.
The discussion begins with Montana Attorney General Tim Fox, who had been working to address an oversight in the program overlooking Montana establishments that generate more than a third of their revenue from gambling. Those businesses were among the first to close their doors due to COVID-19.
