Jon Bennion, Chief Deputy Attorney General and 2020 Candidate for Attorney General
Jon Bennion currently serves as the Chief Deputy Attorney General and also recently announced his bid Attorney General in 2020. We talked with Jon about more than his current job title and his desired job title. We also discussed Super Jack and his take on how the sausage is made in Helena. Jon is a native of Billings. He earned his undergraduate degree in political science in 2000 and a law degree in 2005 from the University of Montana in Missoula. In 2004, he authored Big Sky Politics, a book about the history of campaigns and elections in modern Montana. After law school, he clerked for a state district court judge in Billings. In 2006, Jon joined the Montana Chamber of Commerce staff as Government Relations Director, where he has also served as a staff attorney. In 2009, he was appointed to serve on the Montana Districting and Apportionment Commission.
