Generous Donation from Petroleum County Native Gives Huge Boost to Community Center Plans
Plans for a new community center in Winnett, in Petroleum County, are definitely a go after a generous donation from Winnett native Larry Carrell, and his wife, Kathi. Larry grew up in Petroleum county, later enjoying a successful career in the petroleum industry. During a community meeting Wednesday evening, the Carrells pledged a total of $5 million dollars toward the construction of the new facility, a 10,000 – 12,000 square foot community center that would be the town’s first large event center.
Northern Broadcasting System President Taylor Brown, whose family ranches near Winnett, attend the meeting and joined Voices this morning to announce the news and share his conversation with Carrell, and Sue McKenna, who co-chairs the community center fund-raising committee.
