New Ranch Management Program at MSU Combines Scientific and Financial Expertise

(25 minutes) Ranching today is a complicated and demanding business. It’s one that requires both scientific and financial expertise.

Recognizing the on-going challenge of managing a profitable and sustainable ranch, Montana State University has launched a new and unique four-year bachelor’s degree program for young ranchers that combines the disciplines of animal science, range science, and business management. It’s called the Dan Scott Ranch Management Program.

In today’s special podcast, Northern Broadcasting System President Taylor Brown, who grew up on his family’s ranch in Garfield County, talks with program lead Dr. Rachel Frost who is tasked with the challenge of building this program from the ground up.
