Montana will receive more than $5.5 million in coronavirus relief to support senior citizens and folks with disabilities across the state. The funds will be administered by the Administration for Community Living and also includes $583,420 for Montana’s Tribes.
Charitable Trust Includes MT Hospitals in COVID-19 Grant
The Leona M and Harry B Helmsley Charitable Trust has announced a multimillion dollar effort to help save the lives of COVID-19 patients and protect frontline healthcare workers caring for them. A total of $4.7 million in funding will be distributed across five upper-midwestern states including Montana’s SCL Health Hospitals.

Great Falls – Commission Approves Bond Sale
The Great Falls City Commission has OK’d the final details of a $3.2 million bond sale needed to repay developer West Bank LLC its upfront costs for public improvements tied to the West Bank Land development. Yves Idzerda, head of Montana State University’s Physics Department, has been named Dean of MSU’s largest college, the College of Letters and Science after a national search. He will begin his new responsibilities July 1st with an annual salary of $198,000.
Investigation Ongoing for Fire Near Plains
Western Montana firefighters are doing mop up work on a 40-acre wildfire on the Henry Creek drainage about 5 miles east of Plains on the Lolo National Forest. The cause has not been determined for the fire which was located about 2 miles behind a U.S. Forest Service gate. An investigation is ongoing.
